Gum Grafting
When the health of the teeth is compromised by gums that have been weakened due to periodontal disease (gum disease), gum grafting can help restore the gum line and resecure the teeth. For gum grafting, a healthy section of soft tissue will be taken from another area of the mouth and sutured over the area with low coverage. Over time, the tissue will adhere to the existing tissue, leaving the patient with better coverage for the tooth roots.
Oral Cancer Screening
We always aim to provide you with complete peace of mind when you visit us. When you come in for your routine dental hygiene appointment or oral examination, our dentists will complete a quick oral cancer screening. We’ll look for abnormalities using a variety of diagnostic tools and techniques. These regular screenings are an important part of protecting your health.
Dental Sealants
You can think of dental sealants as a protective shield for your teeth. Sealants are painted on the teeth and hardened, drying clear and leaving a new barrier over the teeth, sealing grooves and crevices that are hard to reach with a toothbrush or floss. Sealants can be particularly beneficial for teens and children, giving them extra protection as they learn how to care for their teeth.
Dental X-Rays
We use a variety of tools to help us diagnose and treat oral health care issues. Digital dental X-rays are an important part of this process, allowing us to see beyond the surface level of the teeth and gums. Often, we can detect small issues before they become larger problems. With clear images, we can provide more tailored oral health care for you and your family.
Root Canals
A root canal treatment is necessary when the pulp inside a tooth’s roots becomes infected. Infected root canals require immediate treatment to ensure that the infection doesn’t spread to other teeth or to other parts of the body. Treatment ensures that the natural tooth can remain in the mouth (often supported by a dental crown), preserving the bite.
Teeth Extractions
Removing the teeth is typically a last resort, but in some cases, it’s better for your oral health and overall health to remove a tooth. Although extractions can sound intimidating, our dentists are here to make the process straightforward and comfortable. We’ll walk you through all the steps, including after-care instructions. We’ll also discuss replacement options for your missing tooth so we can fully restore your smile post-extraction.
